01Information Collected by Vocab Army

Vocab Army does not use an account, registration, or sign-in system. The app does not automatically collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, camera images, microphone recordings, or device identifiers.

The app processes your selected preferences and quiz responses as described below. If you choose to contact us by email, we may receive the information you send. Website visits and services such as text-to-speech may involve separate processing by their providers.

02Local App Data

Your language preference (language) and sound preference (sound_enabled) are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences so the app can remember these settings.

Quiz answers and results are processed only during the current session. The app does not maintain a persistent quiz history or send quiz answers, results, or these preferences to a Vocab Army server.

You can change these preferences in the app. Clearing the app’s storage through Android settings removes its local preferences; Android backup and restoration may affect whether preferences are restored later.

03Android Backup

Depending on your device and backup settings, Android’s system backup mechanism may back up and restore the app’s local preferences. This is handled by Android and its backup service, rather than by a Vocab Army server. You can review the backup options available in your device settings.

04Text-to-Speech

For spoken pronunciation, Vocab Army passes only the question word to the text-to-speech (TTS) service selected on your device. The app does not record audio or use your microphone for this feature.

Some TTS services work on the device, while others may use an online service to generate speech. Processing by your selected TTS provider is subject to that provider’s settings and privacy policy. You can review your selected engine and available offline voices in your device’s text-to-speech settings.

05Support and Email Communication

If you choose to send feedback or contact support@vocabarmy.com, we may receive your email address, the display name supplied by your email service, and the message or other content you choose to send. We use this information to handle your request and communicate with you.

Vocab Army does not automatically attach device information, quiz results, or logs to a feedback email. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

Email delivery, forwarding, and storage are handled through email service providers. Support correspondence may be retained as needed to respond to and follow up on your request. You can contact us to ask about or request deletion of correspondence you have sent.

06External Applications

The Share, Feedback, and Rate App features open external applications only when you choose to use them. For example, you may select a sharing app, open your email app, or visit the app’s store listing.

Information you choose to send or actions you take in those applications are handled by their respective providers. Opening an email or sharing interface does not itself mean that you have sent a message; you control whether to complete that action.

07Advertising and Analytics

The current Vocab Army app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. It does not use these tools to track your activity or build an advertising profile.

08Crash and Performance Information

Vocab Army does not include Crashlytics, Sentry, or another third-party crash-reporting SDK, and it does not send app logs or crash reports through such an integration.

Google Play and Android may separately process crash, diagnostic, and performance information at the platform level, depending on your settings and their policies. This platform-level processing is separate from data collection implemented by Vocab Army in the app.

09Device Permissions

The current app does not request or use sensitive device permissions for location, microphone, camera, or contacts. Text-to-speech produces spoken output and does not require microphone recording by Vocab Army. External apps may have their own permissions, which they manage separately.

10Children’s Privacy

Vocab Army does not require users, including children, to create an account or provide personal details to complete quizzes. The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

If a child sends us an email, we may receive the information included in that message. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information to us can contact support@vocabarmy.com to request its review or deletion. Device backup, TTS, and external applications remain subject to the relevant provider’s settings and policies.

11Third-Party Services

Services involved in your use of Vocab Army may include Android and Google Play, your chosen TTS engine, email and forwarding providers, and applications you select for sharing. The website also uses hosting and font services as described below.

These providers operate under their own privacy policies. Their involvement does not mean that Vocab Army sends them quiz history or automatically collects the personal information listed above. Review the policies of the specific services you use, including the Google Privacy Policy where applicable.

12Website

The Vocab Army website at https://vocabarmy.com is a static informational site hosted on Netlify. It has no account system or embedded advertising or analytics scripts.

Visiting the website sends technical request information, such as your IP address, requested page, and browser information, to the hosting service so it can deliver and protect the site. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which also receives technical request information when your browser requests those fonts. This website processing is separate from the app’s local quiz processing.

For information about these providers, see the Netlify Privacy Statement and the Google Privacy Policy. Links to external websites and email applications are subject to those services’ own practices.

13Data Security

Local app preferences are stored through Android’s app storage mechanisms. Their protection also depends on your device security and backup settings. The website is delivered over HTTPS.

No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security. Use appropriate device security settings, and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information by email. Security practices for platform backups, TTS, email, and hosting services are managed by the respective providers.

14Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Vocab Army or its information-handling practices. The current version will be published on this page, with the Last Updated date revised when the policy changes.
